NYC Fashion Trends for Spring

Best Fashion Trends
Spring is in the air and it’s deepening to summer but in New York, the crisp colors of spring are currently dominating the city. Based the latest trends showcased in New York Fashion week, there are plenty of wearable trends that can make way into your wardrobe this spring. The following are some of my favorites.

Floral Patterns

The silks, pastel shades as well as the flowing fabrics in the Ralph Lauren collection all stole my breath away. These are extremely gorgeous for formal, semi-formal and casual wear and they were really wearable. Silk is always a nice addition to any wardrobe so get your hands on these floral silk shirts that are breathable, comfortable and wearable in any weather.

Neon Colors

The Del Pozo collection showcased a pop of bold colors, pairing cobalt blue shades with vibrant yellow and orange tops. Spring is all about bright colors so add some to your wardrobe with these cobalt blue pants or skirts. Brightly colored tops are also great and you can color block with the right purses, jewelry and shoes for a nice touch of intense color.

Vibrant Stripes

While vertical stripes have always been a huge no, they’re making a comeback in the brightest manner possible. Showcased in primary colors, they can be in almost any color possible. Opt for the ones that make use of black or white to ground the colors a bit so that they are not only easier on the eyes but are also able to add more structure in their pattern too.

New Blue

Blue is the new black on the basis of this spring collection in New York Fashion Week. Blue was a definite favorite, showcasing in almost every collection and in almost every shade. From light pastel blues to vibrant cobalt and deep, almost black blues, this was the color that was the most popular. Add a touch of blue to your wardrobe too. Since it is so easy to pair and style with, I’m sure you will have plenty of ease in incorporating it in into your clothing whether you are dressing for a casual or formal event.

Ruffles and Frills

Following previous fashion trends, ruffles were usually a huge no-no but they’ve made a fashionable revival this spring.  Opt for styles that are more balanced and more in proportion with your frame since they will be much easier to balance. If you want to try a bolder option, opt for off the shoulder tops or asymmetrical tops that make it easier for you to pull off the look without appearing like the frills are overpowering the look too much.

Laces and Ties

Laces and ties were another favorite and they looked amazing, helping to emphasize waist lines as well as different body lines. Moreover, they look perfect for the hot weather. Pick any of the styles showcased in Alexander Wang’s collection or the one’s showcased in Kaelen’s and you won’t go wrong with either look.
